We stayed for two nights and ate in the restaurant on the second night. The owners were really friendly and went out of their way to accommodate my partner’s dietary requirements (gluten free). The pub had a lovely atmosphere, and the food was incredible. A real find, we will definitely be staying again.
Had a really lovely evening meal here on friday night. Recommend booking as gets busy greeted by i think the landlord who was really nice superb meal, burger and a gammon steak. Big portion sizes. Really lovely country pub atmosphere my husband liked all the cricket and darts memorabilia!
We didn't stay at the Blue Lion but ate there one evening while in the area. This is very much a 'typical pub' with a lovely warm friendly atmosphere. The car park was full when we arrived at 6.30, but you can park on the road side. The barman was very busy, but despite this he was very friendly and welcoming. There was a wide choice of dishes on the menu as well as a specials board - all very reasonably priced. We didn't have to wait long for our food and when it arrived it was beautifully presented and the portions very generous. I had trout with cassoulet which was wonderful. One of my friends had beef and ale pie and the other two had gammon. They all enjoyed their meals. Unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert, but the choice on the dessert menu looked good too. If we're in the area again we'll definitely be back for a meal at the Blue Lion and now we know they provide accommodation we could stay there too.
We went to the blue lion inn after looking at online reviews for my son’s birthday, and we weren’t disappointed. Starters of halloumi fries, calamari, chicken wings and Olives. All was well cooked, seasoned and tasted beautifully! For main we had 2x steaks, chicken supreme and a burger - all were stunning and good sized portions. The Staff were very attentive. We will definitely visit when we are on holiday again!
An amazing meal for our sons Birthday while we away for Easter. Food was beautiful, the chicken wing and calamari starters on the specials board were especially good.
Had dinner at the Blue Lion this evening. Food has got better and better with every visit. The burger was better than almost any I can remember from anywhere and the atmosphere is great on a Friday evening. Highly recommend for those looking for top quality pub food in the area. Sadly forgot to take photos… again…!
Amazing Inn, if you are on vacation in the area this is a must stop for the night. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is the perfect English pub in the English countryside. The building has history which makes it so charming. And the best part of it all is the customer service. The folks that own this Inn and pub are absolutely fantastic! They were so friendly especially the gentleman who runs the place, we had such a good time and many laughs. Highly recommended. Thanks for having us, the Canadian couple.
Lovely pub, amazing food, wonderful people. The Blue Lion Inn is the place ww had our best dinner last year, so we really wanted to come back for more and we did! Atmosphere is lovely, people are wonderful, food was tasty like last time. Would definitely recommend!
